groups

by kevinwilson @ 2008-02-27 - 23:40:48

have you all joined a group yet?

oh - apart from this one, i mean.
i joined the theatregroup which rather suggests how cultural i am really.
if you haven't joined any other groups.... tell us why not.

Featured blogs are a waste of space. Discuss.

by EllieGant @ 2008-02-25 - 20:11:27

Well, I joined this group in a rush of community-spirited enthusiasm, and then thought 'But what is it for?'. By the looks of things, I am not alone. Looking at what's been said so far, I'm going to assume that it's a kind of discussion group about blog.co.uk.

So, as my maiden speech, I would like to find out what is the purpose of featured blogs? Does anyone know? I can't work it out, so do tell if you know.

Establishing Purpose.

by Prettyintelligentprincess @ 2008-02-20 - 01:25:42

This group needs a purpose...
What is our purpose...and from that we deduce the audience.
Otherwise....what is the point of us groupies???

Go on!
Throw some ideas around!!!

what next?

by kevinwilson @ 2008-02-19 - 22:36:36

i was just wondering what our mates at blog.co.uk have got lined up for us in the future.
it would be nice if new stuff could be tested on us group members first ...

just a thought.
might add meaning to our membership of the group?
and make everyone else jealous...

visitor count

by kevinwilson @ 2008-02-13 - 10:57:49

a few people have commented lately that visitor numbers seem a bit zany.
i've noticed it on my own blog.
they used to be fairly predictable, but now i am getting some really strange stats.

is there a technical reason for this, or are we just getting accurate figures now, when we weren't before?

anyone got any thoughts?

cheers
kevin

a shameless plug?

by copdam @ 2008-02-12 - 22:05:45

Is this group for general blogland chat?

I don't want to offend anyone by this little plug, but I'm working hard on an event for Cancer Research UK - Relay for Life.
not to be confused with Race for Life.

We're trying to raise awareness to make Relay as well-known as the Race.

Relay for Life is held in many location around the UK.
You can find out more by visiting the following site for events nationwide:
http://www.cancerresearchuk.org/relay/

Or if you want to know about the one I'm working on, go here:
www.relayforlife-portsmouth.co.uk
this site is still being developed so any suggestions are welcome! Thanks!!

Over here!

by Chyna_Doll @ 2008-02-12 - 11:14:53

I saw some of my Friends here in this group so I thought I'd follow them all. :)

Does this mean I am with the In/It crowd? B)

blog design

by kevinwilson @ 2008-02-11 - 18:51:06

probably a naive question, but is the design of this group blog a new thing that will shortly be available to everyone?
i notice it has 'beta' written all over it.
i just thought it looks pretty cool and wondered whether i could have one like that!

cheers
kevin

any minute now ...

by kevinwilson @ 2008-02-10 - 11:40:34

... the conversation will dry up, and we'll all look at each other and say -

why are we here?

one of the reasons i joined this group was so i could meet up with new people, which is fine.
but i also thought it might be a good way of airing opinions on how i could be a better blogger.

like, for instance, i haven't got a clue how to do a wizzy design for my blog.

sad, isn't it?

anyway, i'm enjoying the party but i'm running out of guinness.
anyone got any?

Nulty What is this?

by nultygoestopartick @ 2008-02-09 - 21:59:26

Just think in years to come this might be refered to as the First Supper (or the last but thats not very original)

Nulty enters the big blogger house

by nultygoestopartick @ 2008-02-09 - 21:35:33

Hello everyone, those of  you that know me will know me and you that don't won't
I had a wee peep through the window via Notbobs blog and decided to  come in
I tell a funny story now and then and a few jokes so cheers (raises his nearly empty bottle of Magners)
I hope I enjoy this as much as I have on the main blog

Hiya!

by NotBob @ 2008-02-09 - 20:29:41

I'm here at last!

Same old me - late for the party and usually the last to leave because of my tendency to fall asleep on the sofa. Any champers left, or will I have to open this bottle of cider I brought with me?

Doing what my mummy said.

by prydwen @ 2008-02-09 - 14:45:01

Hi all, joining this group as my mummy always said "there is safety in numbers"....

The two Dozenth

by safriz @ 2008-02-09 - 04:44:33

By coincidence i am completing the Dozens :).Just saw this new feature of BCUK and the first group i joined was Blogmeet(hey i am the veteran of one blog meet ;) ),and i was the Twelveth member.
Then i joined this group and i was the twenty fourth member.Nice new addition in BCUK,but at the same time,my little mind wont be able to indulge in too many features. That was the main reason why i ran away from the facebook.
The best thing in BCUK is the freedom it's design gives me to express myself. It is a plain white canvass, and i can paint it my way,and thats the crown jewel of BCUK.

Kevin's fault

by Prettyintelligentprincess @ 2008-02-09 - 01:09:15

I'm here 'cos of Kevin...and he's a king and I am the Princess...
But...there are different people here and it is a bit weird as I don't know their boundaries.
Mine can be rather stretched at times!

But...he's right...I am looking out of the window.

amazing

by kevinwilson @ 2008-02-08 - 17:17:29

one thing i've already noticed about the blog groups thing is that you discover bloggers you'd never heard of before.

just like life really.
i suppose we all live in our little blog worlds, generally, satisfied with our group of friends.
and then - oh look out of the window! there are lots of people out there!

anyway, i'll take the opportunity to do a world tour of all your blogs.
no doubt you will all open my eyes still further!

Hello!!

by copdam @ 2008-02-07 - 19:07:35

Hello everybody!
Thought I'd join too! Read something about wine and canapes and I just knew I had to be here! :)

To all of you I haven't met before, very nice to meet you!

Hello

by Miza-T @ 2008-02-07 - 16:21:55

I'm here as well...why not?

What are we supposed to do now;) I'm a bit slow you know?:))

but as Confucius said:

"It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop":>>

Society & Culture!

by la_spice @ 2008-02-07 - 16:01:55

Well that obviously includes La_spice!

Glass of wine and a canapé anyone?

Cheers!

Hello , Mira here

by miramaze @ 2008-02-07 - 16:00:09

Hello everyone. I've just joined. Number 6 , I think ;) and happy to be here .

*looks around *

Do we get to see other group members ?

there's a quote ...

by kevinwilson @ 2008-02-07 - 15:53:46

... something about not wanting to join any group that would have me as a member!
but this is a great idea and i promise to behave myself.

oh - and you're all welcome to visit the isle of kevin anytime.

cheers
kevin
